Meet Josiah Jackson-Okesola

Josiah Jackson-Okesola is a licensed professional Nurse Clinician, multi-award-winning nurse innovator, extraordinary global nursing leader, media consultant, digital media broadcaster, mental health therapist, practising psychotherapist and public speaker with current international certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Immediate Life Support (ILS).

Over the years, his undying passion for rebranding the battered image of the nursing profession led him to orchestrate, convene and coordinate professional nurses in a series of nursing advocacy projects in partnership with the United Nations; World Heart Federation (WHF) and the Nursing Now Global Campaign.

In 2015 he went back to broadcasting school to fulfil his childhood dream of becoming a professional Media Broadcaster & Journalist. On graduation from the Grajos Institute of Broadcasting, he took his passion for rebranding the image of Nursing to an unprecedented level, working with an outstanding team of highly talented but young nurses to establish “Nurses on Air”, the first of its kind radio broadcasting and nursing advocacy and branding hub strictly run by professional nurses, in the history of Africa nursing.He invented the African Nurses TV, a first of its kind online digital media innovative tool by African nurses and proceeded to win with his team of media broadcasting nurses, the highly revered national award, the Nigeria Healthcare Excellence Awards (Media Broadcast Category).In recognition of his contribution in the field of nursing leadership and health advocacy, he earned his first international award in 2013 from the highest global nursing body, the International Council of Nurses, Geneva, Switzerland.

Jayjay as he is fondly called by friends and colleagues holds the advanced qualification of Masters Practitioner in the field of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (MPNLP) and Psychotherapy; with expertise in Result Technologies, Hypnosis and Neurological Repatterning for Addictive Habits.
He also holds certification as a Peer Health Educator from UNICEF; as a Marriage Mentor and Relationship Coach from The Institute of Marriage and Family Affairs (TIMFA, USA); bagged International Award in Delivering Training (IADT) from the London Professional Training Centre; and certification in Leadership & Management in Health from Washington University.

As a result of his volunteering service and unrelenting pursuit in raising the profile and status of nurses within Africa, he earned a global appointment to coordinate the Nursing Now Global Campaign for Nigeria, a campaign powered by the World Health Organization & International Council of Nurses towards the celebration of the 200th birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale in the year 2020 with the aim of raising the profile and status of nurses and midwives around the world.

In July 2018, Josiah Jackson-Okesola retired from active Clinical Nursing Practice in the Oil & Gas sector to further pursue and focus on his passion in the field of Nursing Innovation, EnterpreNURSEship, global nursing leadership, Media Advocacy & Branding and Career Coaching.
In January 2020, he received an international award from America’s foremost nurse-led media organization – The Truth About Nursing Decade Awards, an award which earned him a coveted seat in the organization’s leadership table, becoming the second African to be appointed as a member of the Advisory Panel for “The Truth About Nursing” U.S.A
Josiah Jackson-Okesola, who recently relocated to the United Kingdom, is currently transiting from clinical practice into the fields of Transfomational Coaching, Healthcare Digital Innovation and Education Technology, towards driving investment in Africa’s healthcare and education sector.

His current work in the filed of Education Technology and Healthcare Digital Innovation is opening up exciting doors of opportunities as he combines his passion for mentorship and coaching with that of digital media exploits.
The 45-year-old Founder/CEO, Nurses on Air Foundation; Chairman, Board of Trustees, Inspire Nurses Network Africa and Advisory Board Member, Truth About Nursing, U.S.A has been happily married for 19 years to his best friend and lover, Lizzy Jackson-Okesola, an equally extraordinary Mental Health Nurse Educator, Substance Abuse Counsellor & Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Psychotherapy.
